FTTN trial fast-tracks NBN Co arrival for Central Coast

NBN Co’s FTTN services deliver high-quality broadband to Australians faster and more cost effectively – find out more here…

Small business owner and part-time skydiver Martin McInnes from Umina on the Central Coast of New South Wales was one of the first people in the country to sign up to NBN Co’s customer pilot of fast broadband via Fiber-to-the-Node (FTTN) technology.

The deployment of cutting edge VDSL Vectoring technology on the FTTN network allowed NBN Co to deliver peak download speeds of 96Mbps and upload speeds of 30Mbps – all without conducting disruptive last-mile civil works that would be required for a full Fiber-to-the-Premises (FTTP) connection.

Martin loves his new FTTN NBN connection because it has….

  • Increased his work productivity by reducing the time it takes to perform tasks.
  • Created new local and international business opportunities because of his improved connection.
  • Helped to create more leisure time – allowing him to resume his skydiving passion!
  • Opened up new entertainment opportunities via downloading and streaming of content.
