Damon Cavalchini is a Community Affairs Manager for nbn in Queensland.
Covering an area that stretches from Ingham to Mount Isa to Goondiwindi to Redland City, he spends a lot of time talking with people from all aspects of Australian life. As well as facilitating the physical rollout of the nbn™ broadband access network with Councils, his role is to assist communities to fully understand the nbn and the benefits and opportunities it brings.
Damon has held community and media engagement roles with a diverse range of organisations including Australian Red Cross, Lung Foundation Australia and the Queensland State Government.
In his spare time, Damon pretends to write fiction and has appeared in several anthologies. His short story, Renfield’s Wife, published in the 2011’s Dead Red Heart, was set in Queensland’s Daintree Forest and made Ellen Datlow’s Honourable Mention list for the year’s best horror.
