Our wholesale pricing approach
We have developed the pricing of our product set with the following objectives in mind:
- Maintain a national wholesale access pricing structure across similar technology types. Please note, that pricing will vary depending on the access technology type (nbn™ Fixed Line, Fixed Wireless or Sky Muster™ satellite).
- Foster competition and innovation by offering direct access to qualifying customers, regardless of their size.
- Provide an attractive wholesale product that is designed to encourage better customer experiences for end users, while maintaining the flexibility required by providers to differentiate their retail offerings in the market.
- Deliver a mix of wholesale services that will offer an appropriate return to our shareholders, and the government.
Providers can build products capable of upgrading to higher speeds, higher availability and a wider range of business features such as traffic class options, and a broad range of features suitable for the business and enterprise market.
Wholesale CVC discounts
Our wholesale Connectivity Virtual Circuit (CVC) discounting model under the Dimension Based Discount is designed to encourage higher quality services – the cost per unit decreases as providers increase their CVC purchases.
The model calculates the level of CVC discounts based on the average monthly capacity purchased by the provider per end user. This is designed to encourage the supply of more bandwidth to improve their costumers’ internet experience at home and at work. It also helps providers to better manage their cost base and support their usage growth on the nbn™ access network.
Wholesale bundled offers
We have introduced wholesale bundle discounts for providers that include CVC. These give the providers greater price surety, helping them to offer an affordable, consistent high-speed broadband experience to their customers.
